So, as mentioned, I joined the society for editors and proofreaders in order to do a better job at proofreading things for clients. As such I signed up for the first course a little while ago, and have been gradually working my way through it, honing my skills as it were. All of which will no doubt come in handy when I have my own novel to edit. Until then, I work for you.
Little did I realise, that there was a lot more to proofreading than just care and attention. There are a whole mess of symbols used by professionals to mark documents, BSI standard.
It was actually quite therapeutic. However, the practice text is also guilt tripping me into going for a walk.
I guess there are worse things it could be persuading me to do…
